Fat, Sick & Tired

Sick and tired of being fat, sick, and tired?

Want a new reality?

Sure, then you MUST make changes to your day and the choices you make.

If you want to reduce body fat so you can reduce risk of disease, increase energy, have a clearer mind, and sleep/recover better, then keto can be a very helpful tool or lifestyle that has so many applications.

Rather than focusing on “what I can’t have”, like most “diets”, focus on “all the food I can have”.

The problem with “I can’t have bread?”, “I can’t have sugar?”, or “I can’t have pasta?” is that it addresses 1, a resistive mindset and 2, an addiction to sugar that goes missing often in today’s society.

Once you take a few days to put the effort in to drop the cravings and addiction, your world becomes so much clearer and you feel better!

Of course, key composition improves too but what’s most profound is how your brain will function.

Yeah, it may be tough but it’s not hard or impossible.

Hard is dealing with cancer.

Hard is dealing with someone you care about suffering day in and day out without understanding they CAN MAKE changes.

Hard is having your quality of life taken down due to poor information circulating, which leads to poor choices in your day.

If it were easy, everyone would do it!

What’s cool, so can YOU! If, you decide to make the change and believe you can, which anyone with the will to change can change and that’s where I come in as a coach and support system for anyone that takes my offer to join their team.

Thanks to @ketogeniccom for this helpful shopping guide to a ketogenic lifestyle.

Ljubljana, Slovenia 1-19-19

Did some touristy stuff today around Ljubljana, Slovenia today.

Rad city with so much history, cool architecture, and great food!

Took a lift to a castle on the top of a mountain for the best view of the city along with a nice cup of coffee with local heavy cream and learned about the dragon that protects the Ljubljana.

Grateful for my life and the ability to travel the world and experience new cultures.

It’s a plus that I’m able to coach JAKA REMEC with BMX as well!

Family Is Not Just BloodLined

I can’t express how grateful I am for this family and the opportunity they have given me to coach them with two of my favorite things in this world: BMX & Keto.

I’m working with Jaka on his BMX training but also introducing ketogenic interventions with a modified approach for his training and being 13.

Jaka’s father, Alex and I are working on keto 100% as well as strategies to help Jaka’s career moving forward.

Amazing fun fact, when Jaka and Alex stayed with me in USA in July Alex met a business partner and just opened a new location for his business in America! How amazing is that?

With all that said, Jaka and Alex hold a special place in my heart beyond all of this. They arrived at my house a week after my younger brother, Danny, passed and had they not arrived, I may have not gotten out of bed from a depression I was stuck in.

Jaka and Alex have become family to me and it’s another example of following your heart because you never know what experiences or people may come into your life.

I trust all of you will see that, if not already, and apply it to your life to live the lives you deserve.

January 14th, 2019: Slovenia

They told me not to follow BMX and just work or go to school. “They” we’re not my parents. My parents supported me in taking a massive risk by droppingout of school for BMX.

Now I’ve been to over 15 countries, performed for the USA military in Iraq, become friends with my idol Dave Mirra, started my own business, impacted lives around the world, speak around the world, and now I’m on a plane to Slovenia to coach JAKA REMEC for the next week.

When I get home, I leave less than a week later to perform/speak at A 4-day ketogenic health conference in Los Angeles. Then I fly straight to a business event some of my clients and my business partner will be attending.

After that, I’m home 2 weeks before heading to Tampa to speak at Dr. Eric Westman Adapt Your Life event and collab with Ketogenic.com and Dr. Ryan Lowery🙏🏼🧠

That’s just to the end of February before more!

I share this because I’ma kid from Cape Cod with the love and support from my family, my bike, my dream, and the work ethic to put the work in and not settle.

Crazy where I am 13 years later after embarking on this chapter of my life. I’m now evolving into a new route on track for a new purpose and new passions but bringing BMX with me everywhere I go.

I had/have a lot of odds against me but the most important thing I’ve learned is that we create the reality we think and envision in our own minds.

The actions we take are influenced by that thinking and envisioning. Jim Carey said “our eyes are not just for viewing. They’re also projectors.”

Envision the life YOU want and work your ass for it and it can be manifested into your reality.

I’m proof.

Thanks to those who love and support me and my vision.

Neurons That Fire Together Wire Together

I’ve not only been told I will die, I’ve literally flat lined for 20+seconds on the bottom of a contest course in 2012.

When you hear those words, let alone experience life or death situations more than a handful of times during your lifespan, things begin to change internally.

I share that because that’s my life and what I’ve taken from it has had profound impact on my life and the lives of others around the world.

That said, I choose that path by persevering every single time I got knocked down and flight for the life I envisioned.

I’m no different than every single one of you. I just made a choice when presented with hardship, which we’ll are capable of.

I chose the perspective in which I wanted to believe in, and so can you.

Once you change your conscious mind thinking, you’re able to have a new emotional experience that changes parts of your brain.

What’s cool about this concept is that our brains, although amazingly complex and smart, can’t differ between perceived and real experiences. Better yet, it can’t differentiate between internal (mind) and external (outside world/events) experiences.

When you focus on your conscious mind thinking (meditation, journaling, etc.) you can combine all parts of the brain to create new experiences, which create new biological effects internally and we begin to believe these thoughts.

When this happens, we naturally take new actions to create new experiences and attract more of the things we focus on.

It’s important to remember the brain can’t differentiate between “good” and “bad”. It just receives information and gives an output (actions/reactions). This is essentially “neuro plasticity”, or creating new neuro networks/connections.

Healthy Keto

Which do you prefer?

I advocate for “Healthy Keto”, which I see the right picture to be a great example of.

The left photo is a great place to start your transition into Keto but the right yields more benefits with less room for small issues to manifest. More variety of fats that all breakdown, store, and/or get burned for energy differently.

The saying “not all calories are created equally” applies to calories from the same macronutrient as well. Not just carbs/sugar vs. fat or protein.

That said, this photo along with this writing is absent of far too much context to say which is “healthier” for someone.

I aim for the right photo most days/meals but the left hits the spot every now and then, especially when I need to grocery shop. 😂

The left may also leave you feeling a bit hungry still due to the “bulk” missing as you get from the image on the right.

TBI

Keto is more than just a great weight loss tool.

Ketones have profound effects on the brain and in the context of TBI, and it can be life-altering. TBI’s, brain tumors, and toxic consumption in my past is why I live a ketogenic lifestyle to help heal and protect my brain.

This month, Ketogenic.com is bringing awareness to Traumatic Brain Injury and the millions of Americans whose lives have been affected.

Traumatic Brain Injury is a disturbance of brain function resulting from an impact to the head. Although this type of injury is high amongst professional athletes and children, other common causes include accidental falls, blunt-force-trauma, and car accidents. This is a very serious disease process that affects a large population of children, athletes, service men and women, and the elderly.

TBI is the cause of 2.5 million hospital visits a year— 350,000 of which are from children, affects 1.5 million Americans annually, accounts for 30% of all injury-related deaths, and kills 153 people every day. Symptoms range from mild to severe and include headaches, nausea, trouble sleeping, trouble focusing, memory loss, and impaired vision. Due to the nature of the injury, TBI may manifest psychological symptoms such as irritability, anger, aggression, mood swings, and impulsive behavior.

I’m honored to be a part of this campaign this month! I have selected The Athlete Recovery Fund as my charity to support!

Living With 4 Brain Tumors

Nothing is Guaranteed

Don’t let fear dictate the path you take in life.

Whether it’s fear of failure, doing something you want rather than what your parents expect, or fear of injury, you never know what will happen unless you take that risk.

I speak from personal experience as I dropped out of high school and moved to North Carolina to pursue BMX as a dream career.

Now, I have supported myself from BMX for over 10 years, speak, write, and have created a business for myself that I am proud of but my family are proud of me too. Even tho I took a risk full and unconventional route that they supported but were hesitant with.

You can fail at anything in life and nothing’s guaranteed, so you may as well take risks on what you love rather than wondering “what if” only because you listened to others expectations.

My Keto WHY

My WHY for a ketogenic diet and lifestyle is the health, performance, and resilience of my brain.

Beyond grateful for this experience taking place April 16th, 2010, which was a blessing in disguise as a BMX crash that led to an MRI accidentally discovering the first tumor after a year of suffering and being told “you’re fine and just have headaches. Take these pain pills”. Surviving brain surgery for a large tumor along with multiple concussions is why I’ve become passionate towards a ketogenic diet. “Ketones” are the by-products of burning fat and can fuel the brain in a powerful way helping preserve, heal, and protect our brain and overall health.

When you shift from “sugar-burning” to “fat-burning”, you create less inflammation, oxidative stress, hormonal disruption, disease risk, weight/fat gain, and improve your energy, sleep, and recovery.

Some people, like @ketomammoth , use a ketogenic diet to help successfully manage his daily seizures and reduce them to just one a week or so.

Some like, Joe Curcuru, have used the ketogenic diet to drop 75lbs, get off his type-2 diabetes meds, and reduce his risk for disease.

There are a host of things the ketogenic diet may help if approached in a healthy manner and it’s my role as an advocate and a coach to guide and support my clients and all of you to become equipped with the tools to empower you and your success.

I contributed a blog for the @ketogeniccom website telling my story and sharing my WHY more in depth and that’s now live!
