Brain tumors can’t stop us.
“In July 2016, 8 year old Justin took a bad spill on his skateboard. A day later he got extremely sick and was rushed to the local Emergency Room, thinking he had a concussion as a result of his fall. Within an hour, Justin was loaded into a helicopter and life flighted to the nearest Children’s Hospital. Justin had a severe case of hydrocephalus and a mass in his brain. He was rushed in for emergency brain surgery to relieve the pressure from the fluid in his brain, and to attempt to biopsy the brain tumor.
Justin was diagnosed with an inoperable brainstem glioma. Shortly thereafter, Justin had his first seizure and was subsequently diagnosed with Epilepsy. To date, Justin has had 3 brain surgeries in a very short 2.5 years. His brain tumor is closely monitored by his oncology team and interval MRI scans.” -Justin’s mother.
